For the garlic sauce:
3 cloves garlic, pressed
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chopped herbs (parsley, cilantro)
3 tablespoons water
how to cook step by step
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add the flour, salt, lemon juice, and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead and Rise: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Shape the Rolls: Punch down the dough and divide it into 9 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased round cake pan. Cover and let them rise for another 40 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 180ยฐC (360ยฐF). Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg yolk. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the Garlic Sauce: While the rolls are baking, mix the pressed garlic, salt, vegetable oil, chopped herbs, and water in a small bowl.
- Finish and Serve: Once the rolls are done, brush them generously with the garlic sauce.
- Enjoy your pampushki!
