how to cook step by step
Prepare the Sushi Rice:
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturerโs instructions.
In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool.
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
Prepare the Fillings:
Mix the crab meat with mayonnaise in a bowl.
Julienne the cucumber and slice the avocado.
Assemble the Rolls:
Place a bamboo sushi mat on a flat surface and cover it with plastic wrap.
Place a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on the mat.
Wet your hands to prevent sticking and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice (optional).
Flip the nori over so the rice is facing down.
Place a line of crab mixture, cucumber, and avocado along the bottom edge of the nori.
Using the bamboo mat, roll the sushi tightly away from you, pressing gently to shape the roll.
Cut and Serve:
Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 6-8 pieces.
Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
