- Prepare the Nut Filling:
- In a bowl, mix the finely chopped walnuts with ground cinnamon.
- Assemble the Baklava:
- Preheat your oven to 175ยฐC (350ยฐF).
- Brush a 9×13 inch baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter before adding the next.
- Spread a thin layer of the nut mixture over the phyllo.
- Repeat the process, layering 5 sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter, and then adding the nut mixture. Continue until all the nuts are used.
- Finish with a top layer of 10 sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter.
- Cut and Bake:
- Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Prepare the Syrup:
- While the baklava is baking, combine the sugar, water, honey, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
